Geography: European Cities- Used Lego guys to go on a trip through the European Cities. In London our Lego guys went up and down riding the red bus, after they traveled to Paris where they rode the Ferris wheel, then they traveled to Rome where they saw the dome of the Colosseum, then on to Barcelona where it was hot so they got an ice cream cone; alas they finished their journey in Orleans (pronounced “or lay on” n sounds like your nose is blocked) where Joan of Arc trusted God’s strength that he would save the French.

Sung the names of the cities to the tune of Row Row Row Your Boat

Timeline: Played Battleship while singing song

Science: hand movements and spoke chant (see video below)

Math: 9s and 10s Mathercise

English: learned song, sang with various steady beats on legs and hands

Latin: “Bows shoot into the future” so starts on “Bo.” Learned the song and shot bows and arrows at the target while singing.

History: sung through song once then changed several words the next few times. The kids helped correct the incorrect words and then recited the sentence correctly.

The words I changed were: years to tears, Arc to bark, 7th to pizza, Orleans to oreos, rats to hats, and Europeans to unicorns.

Science song and hand movements:

Mrs. Aubrey Week 5 Playlist for our class:

Art: Perspective Drawings

Science:

#16 In and Out- Planets that orbit the sun and moons that orbit the planets are always being pulled inward by gravity, but their speed keeps them from falling all the way in. The balance between gravity and movement keeps them orbiting.

#13 Expanding- Scientists believe our universe is expanding just like the balloon we observed and they believe the galaxies are moving away from away from each other like the dots on the balloon.

Read aloud suggestion: Joan of Arc by Diane Stanley
